Newly Renovated $2.5 Million Lobby Sushi & Cocktail Bar

11-Foot Tall Jellyfish Aquarium, Snow-Infused Drink Rail, Cocktail Cubbies & More

Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort will unveil a new lobby sushi and cocktail bar, Korals, on September 25. The $2.5-million redesign expands the lobby to include nearly 1,000 square feet of additional space, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, and a sushi bar with a Bisazza tile mural backdrop. The focal point of the new space, a custom-designed, 11-foot tall, three-foot wide, 3,600-pound aquarium column, will showcase live Hawaiian moon jellyfish, known for their unique coloration and adaptability to various environments. The new onyx bar will feature a four-inch chilled drink rail to keep cocktails cold, using a thin layer of man-made snow. Billy Joel Concert

I was most impressed that the Marriott Marco Island Resort has several oceanfront restaurants! I’ve been to several resorts that may have only one oceanfront restaurant because they don’t want to give up precious room space for them, but I digress.I tried 2 of the restaurants, Quinn’s and Pazzi’s. They couldn’t be more different in regards to atmosphere and food, but both were similarly fabulous! The open-air Quinn’s mixes up some mean mixed drinks! Be sure to order a “floater” [what was that called?] with your frozen drink. To balance my drink calories, I ordered the veggie wrap which was perfect for a hot summer day!
