Group At Hamptons Last year, the culinary team of the Marco Island Marriott Beach resort got the invitation of a lifetime: they were asked to prepare a dinner at the James Beard House in New York City.

Chefs from around the country are asked to “perform” at the house by creating a meal for about 75 diners. A five-course dinner was prepared on July 18— The event was a phenomenal success and we had the chance to invite several of our top customers as significant press coverage. The culinary team created an “East Meets West” menu, a terrific fusion of everything from Sweet and Spicy Tiger Shrimp Shooters (that made the Arcadian chardonnay pop like crazy) to a Hawaiian sea bass to a grilled “Silverado” rack of lamb chops. Interspersed were a goat cheese fondue and an Heirloom tomato salad. The meal was perfectly timed and beautifully presented.

From there it got even better as we received an additional invitation to be featured along with Chef Charlie Trotter to celebrate James Beard Foundation’s 20th anniversary at the Chefs and Champagne event in the Hamptons. Our sales team immediately took advantage of this “Once in a lifetime” opportunity to invite some top customers to sample great food, wine and champagne while hobnobbing with celebrities. Our team’s signature Lilly Pulitzer dress fit in perfectly with the Hamptons socialite style. The photo shows Marco’s Director of Sales and Marketing’s Bob Pfeffer along with Senior Account Executive, Meg Pfaff talking recipes with Martha Stewart.

Rumor has it that the Marco Island Marriott team is planning for another trip this summer to an event of a lifetime. Visit www.searching4paradise.com to find out specifics.

What a terrific story. I’ve had the Hawaiin Sea Bass at Kurrents and it was incredible. Typically you don’t think of a hotel restaurant as a fine dining experience. I’ve been to numerous restaurants in South Florida and I would say that Kurrents is by far the best. I’ve also had a chance to dine at the Rookery, your new steakhouse restaurant and that was incredible as well.
