It may not be as long as Route 66 in the US, but with its 650 km stretch has many interesting places to explore further, take for example a hike along the Green Deceit fortress. If you are thinking about taking the whole trip, remember to enter six ferry crossings in the travel budget.

3. Stave churches

Stave churches can be found here and there in southern and central Norway. The interesting thing about the stave churches is that they are surrounded with lots of mystery and history, and often looks as if they are ripped straight out of childhood adventures. If you only see one, so we recommend visiting one of the largest and most spectacular in Heddal Stave Church, which is a cultural treasure.

If you love food so arranged The Norwegian Food Festival annually in this city every August.

5. Tromso

Tromsø is the seventh largest of Norway’s cities. Then it is just 350 km north of the Arctic Circle, the city is warmer than most other places located on the same latitude, this is mainly due to the heating effect that comes from the Gulf Stream. The city with around 70,000 inhabitants welcomes a large number of university students each year, and that it held many festivals in summer when the city has midnight sun. This makes Tromso to a cultural center in the north, also known as the Paris.

6. Oslo

This is perhaps not a surprising choice, but the city certainly deserves a place on the list. Oslo is full of cultural and artistic activity (check out our 48-hour kulturtur in Oslo), popular shopping streets, food from all corners of the world and a bustling nightlife. With landmarks like the Opera House and Holmenkollen, with mountains in the background, there’s no reason not to make the trip here, at least not if it’s here your plane lands first.

Like many other cities along the coast are Skudesneshavn known as a seilbåtby with beautiful white and old wooden houses and buildings. In fact there are more than 200 wooden buildings from the 1850s that is still intact thanks to good maintenance and restoration. It extends 24.5 km between the towns of Lærdal and Aurland in Western Norway. The tunnel took five to build and was completed in 2000. But be prepared to listen to music via mobile phone, the tunnel takes around 20 minutes to drive through and radio signals are bad. But fear not, once you are inside the tunnel so keep a close eye on the special design elements that are adorned with, including “mountain cave lighting” that makes you believe that you are driving in daylight. Two out of five U.S. adults (38%) attended an organized sports event, competition or tournament as either a spectator or as a participant while traveling in the past five years according to a Travel Industry Association survey. A majority of these travelers took their most recent sports trip, however, in the past year (70% or 52.7 million adults). Which sporting event did they attend most? Baseball games topped the list as some 17% of U.S. adults who traveled 50 miles or more sought to enjoy America’s Favorite Pastime. Major League Baseball Spring Training is but a one-hour car drive from the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort. Enjoy a half-day lounging under a Chickee Hut on the island’s famous beach before making the short trip to Fort Myers where two of the game’s best – Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins – call home. Baseball fans, could it get any better than this? For ticket information contact www.ticketmaster.com.
